Hello, I'm Randee Priest, owner/operator of Precision Appliance Service.
Thank you for visiting my site!
I understand that choosing the right repair company can be difficult.
Based on my 25 years in the appliance repair industry I've provided some tips that might help:
1. Size of the Company
(-) Larger companies have larger overheads that they must pass on to you. Those full page ads in the phone books cost thousands of dollars a month per book. Technicians are usually paid on commissions. The higher the repair bill to you, the more their commision! The national corporate companies normally will take several days to schedule you in, and their prices are the highest in the industry.
(+) I have a family operation, with very little overhead. I answer the phones and run the service calls. My wife Lynda, handles the books. We provide a real personal touch! I can normaly arrive the same day you call. If I'm not available and you need it that day, I will refer you to a reputable company that can.
2. Pricing
(-) Having an appliance repaired shouldn't be like buying a used car! Many companies will bid the repair high, hoping you'll accept it. Or they will charge you for parts and repairs that you don't need!
(+) I use the industries leading price guide, the price is up front, fair and easy to understand. You deserve a repair company you can trust.
3. Warranties
(-) Recently most appliance manufacturers have lowered their part warranties to only 90 days. Most repair companies have followed with 90 day part and labor guarantees.
(+) I will keep my full year warranty on all common truck stock parts! Although any special ordered parts will have only 90 days, the labor warranty will remain one full year!
4. Better Business Bureau
(-) Few companies are members of the BBB. Some say it is a waste of time and money. Many don't qualify to the BBB's stringent qualifications!
(+) I beleive in the BBB, and I am a proud award winning member! The BBB is an excellent watchdog for the consumer. There is a link to my reliability report at the bottom of this page.
5. Experience/Training
(-) Many companies offer their technicians a few weeks training, and then send them to your house. This causes a lot of guessing on the diagnosis and replacing more parts than are needed. Costing you more money!
(+) I've been in the appliance repair industry for over 25 years! I also spend many hours a week training to keep up with new products and technologies.
